1. Limits of border area in Arkhangelsk region (in accordance with the order of FSS of RF # 237 on limits of border area in the territory of Arkhangelsk region issued on June 2, 2006 and the order of FSS of Rf # 216 on changes in the order # 237 issued on June 2, 2006 issued on May 2, 2007) are established:
  • in the municipal formation Primorskiy district on the territory of the Zemlya Frantsa-Iosifa archipelago and the Victoria island;
  • in the municipal formation Mezenskiy district on the territories of the rural localities of Ruchjyevskoye, Koidyenskoye, Dolgoschyelskoye and the urban localities of Kamyenskoye, Mezenskoye;
  • on the territory of the municipal formation of Novaya Zyemlya.

Entrance to a border area for people and means of transport is permitted by showing the following documents:
  1. Identification documents;
  2. Individual or group passes issued by border authorities on the basis of personal applications from citizens.

Article 17 of the Russian Federation law # 4730-I on state border of the Russian Federation adopted on April 1, 1993, article 1 of the order of FSS of RF # 458 on rules of boundary regime adopted on September 10, 2007.
List of documents to issue a pass (within 30 days after an application is registered):
  • application (request) to issue a pass (application and request should be clearly written in the Russian language by hand or by using technical means (typewriter, computer), without abbreviations, corrections)

Process of submitting and issue passes to access a border area is regulated in accordance with the edict of FSS of Russia # 572 issued on November 19, 2008, along with the edict of FSS of Russia # 458 on rules of boundary regime issued on September 10, 2007.

— this is the biggest museum of wooden architecture in Russia. In this open air museum one can learn unique northern architecture and take part in merry Pomor feast and carnival.

— this is an ancient city of the Arkhangelsk region that demonstrates unique white stone architecture. This is a city museum where people carefully keep traditions of producing Kargopol clay toys.

— this is a homeland of outstanding Russian scientist and poet. Stubborn Pomor character is alive here. It became a start point of distinguished Russian science. For four hundred years Kholmogori carving bone art has been famous throughout the world.

— the Arkhangelsk region has a lot of miracles and weird things. You can see northern lights in the sky. A polar bear can pass you riding a piece of ice. You can find here a lot of things that you have never thought about. Come here! Every one will find its own miracle.
