For a long time the ethnographic museum was a workshop, where the school teachers and students were recreating the crafts, once common in the Lyadiny village. The hand-made weaved, birch bark, patchwork and embroidered items amaze and surprise all the visitors.
The museum expositions are connected with the name of the town Kargopol. There are also the large panels depicting the ancient symbols. The tourists get to know the crest of Kargopol, see the items which are linked to the rural traditions.
On the visitors’ request Nadezhda will hold workshops in making dolls-charms, cooking pies, weaving, making carpets from flowers and herbs. The museum expositions are situated in the guest house for tourists as well. You can see the design of the northern house, the carpentry workshop, the hunters’,blacksmiths’ and fishermans’ items, the stable. The museum keeper will tell and show you how to get the linen thread from the linen. All visitors can go on the excursion around the Lyadiny village with the stops near the gate wells, near the old houses and the Church of the Epiphany and the Savior Chapel.
The road Kargopol-Pudozh passes by the Lyadiny village. In the beginning of the village there is the pointer which will lead you to the museum.
