The museum was opened on the 2nd of August 2009. Today there are household utensils, instruments, a loom, a sewing machine, furniture, costumes, etc. in the museum. The visitors can order tea with pies (by the prior request).
You can visit the museum in winter – by the prior request, in summer: on Wednesday and Sunday – 11 am up to 2 pm and by the prior request.
By train Arkhangelsk-the Karpogory passenger station. (the way will take 6 hours; the train goes every day in summer and 4 times a week in winter: at 4:45 pm from Arkhangelsk and at 11:55 pm from Karpogory), from the Karpogory passenger station to the Sura station by taxi-minibus (89210703119) along the gravel road about 2 hours, including, depending on the season, the ferry or the ice crossing through the Pinega river (look at the tourist map of the Pinega district).
By car from Arkhangelsk to Sura (367 km – about 7-8 hours, including, depending on the season, the ferry or the ice crossing through the Pinega river). Along the road from Arkhangelsk through Malye Karely until the turn in the Belogorskiy settlement, right to Karpogory through 3 water or ice crossings (look at the tourist map of the Pinega district).
